| Departing from Porth Meudwy,
Aberdaron. 2 to 2.5 hours duration
A fast 4 mile trip out to Bardsey Island, where we slow down to view the
seabird colonies. Bardsey is extremely important as a nest site for the
rare Manx Shearwater, Peregrine Falcon, Chough and countless other
species. Binoculars and commentary are provided. We pride ourselves on
getting in and out of the birds’ environment unobtrusively and without
disturbance. Onwards then to the large resident population of seals, where
we linger quietly and let the more curious ones approach the boat.
Occasionally we will lift one of our lobster pots and let passengers
examine the contents!
We return slowly along the west coast and through Bardsey sound keeping an
eye out for dolphins and porpoises and if time permits visit the large
puffin colony in Aberdaron Bay.
